Being fired and losing your job can be a highly emotional and traumatic experience; however, you need to quickly get over the anger and frustration that comes with your former boss terminating your employment without cause, and refocus your energy on getting paid what you are rightly entitled to. For the reality is that many employers are underpaying their employees, whether it is during the course of their employment or upon their termination, given that they generally feel that their employees are being paid too much and they are not necessarily looking at the law to insure that they are paid all that they are legally entitled, especially with the apparent complexities associated with employee pay arrangements and their legal interpretation.
If you don't properly look into the legal aspects of your job loss with a knowledgeable lawyer, that anger and frustration will only become worse over time, given that you will either be frustrated by not knowing whether or not you were owed something more or, alternatively, when you come to the realization that you should have been paid more, you will be kicking yourself for not having taken the time to make the phone call, especially when you were being offered a free confidential consultation and you chose to pass it up. That is not to say that every fired employee is owed something more from their former employer; however, even if you are owed nothing more, wouldn't it be better to know that now. And if you are something more than what your former employer is offering, doesn't it make sense to properly investigate the pursuit of legal action.
Our approach, however, is not for everyone. When we take on an employment case, we pursue it very aggressively, such that we don't pull our punches with your former employer. As such, for those individuals who simply want to move on, even if it means leaving behind a considerable amount of money, we are probably not the right legal team. For everyone else, especially those employed by larger companies (who think they are so strong and powerful to be beyond reproach), that meet our internal criteria for aggressive employment litigation, we have a unique legal approach that you should seriously consider. If this is of interest to yourself, feel free to contact our law firm in strict confidence, by telephone at 403-400-4092 or 905-616-8864, or via email at Chris@NeufeldLegal.com.
